The Rev. Dr. David D. Swanson is the Senior Pastor and Head of Staff of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, serving in that role since 2004.  His congregation is part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and is among the largest Presbyterian churches in the country.

An active community leader, Dr. Swanson serves on the Downtown Orlando Development Board, the Downtown Orlando Partnership Board, the National Christian Foundation Board of Advisors, the Task Force on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion of the Orlando Economic Partnership, the Samaritan Village Advisory Board, and is one of 50 writers for the Miami Herald statewide influencer series.  He is active in speaking for conferences and retreats around the country, especially in the area of marriage and family.

He is the author of four books: The Economy of God, Everlasting Life: How God Answers Our Questions About Grief, Loss and the Promise of Heaven, Vital Signs: Discovering the Keys to Abundant Christian Living, and Learning to Be You: How Our True Identity in Christ Sets Us Free.

David and Leigh have been married for 33 years and have three grown children, and two grandchildren.
