A graduate of Yale University, Rev. Dr. Dan Meyer also holds degrees from both Princeton and Fuller Theological Seminaries and has served churches in New York, New Jersey, California and Illinois.

Dan came to faith through the ministry of Young Life, a Christian youth organization. His call to ministry formed while working as a volunteer and semi-pro basketball player in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the height of the Province’s infamous “Troubles.”  He also credits in his formation the valuable life experiences gained as the child of a politically engaged family and through summers spent working on an offshore oilrig, in a maximum-security prison, in IBM’s world corporate headquarters, and on a rural farm.

Since 1997, Dan has been Lead Pastor of Christ Church of Oak Brook, a non-denominational, evangelical, multi-site congregation in Chicago’s western suburbs. Christ Church has weekend attendance of 3,000 persons, annual giving of $15M, and a commitment to giving away more than 10% of its resources to support domestic and global mission partners beyond its walls.

Over the years, Dan’s sermons have been carried weekly on mainstream television and radio throughout Chicagoland and have appeared numerous times alongside figures like Tim Keller, John Ortberg and Francis Chan in Preaching Today’s Top Ten lists.

Dan holds four Emmy Awards for his role as on-air host of LIFE FOCUS, a television newsmagazine broadcast on PBS and religious networks nationwide. He is currently serving his second term as chair of the board of Fuller Theological Seminary, the world’s largest non-denominational seminary.  And he has authored books on Christian leadership, evangelism, and the attributes of God.

Dan and his wife, Amy – an interior designer – were married in 1988 and have three sons.
