Rev. Dr. Ed Glover and his wife Tammy have been pastoring on the North Side of Pittsburgh for over 33 years. Together they founded Urban Impact Foundation in 1995 to help address the profound and unique challenges facing today’s urban communities, which they saw first-hand every day for over 9 years as a resident of Pittsburgh’s North Side. During this time, Pastor Ed recognized that the trials of children & family in urban communities could only be effectively addressed through holistic development of the mind, body and spirit through Christ– one person, one family, one block at a time. Thus, Urban Impact Foundation was born!Today, Urban Impact continues to foster Christian community development throughout the Pittsburgh area and serves thousands of students in over 60 youth programs in Athletics, Education, Performing Arts and Options departments as well as through special events like the ManUp Pittsburgh event and the Pittsburgh Marathon. Urban Impact’s mission is to impact students of the North Side in a holistic manner and make disciples of Jesus Christ who then, in turn, make disciples.Pastor Ed graduated from Lambuth University in Tennessee, and received his Masters of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, NY. In 2001, Ed received an honorary doctorate from Toccoa Falls College for his work in the urban setting. In 2003, Ed and Tammy were recipients of the Alumni of the Year Award for both the Alliance Theological Seminary and Nyack College. Ed has served as an adjunct professor at Nyack College, and he and Tammy served as adjunct professors at Alliance Theological Seminary. Ed and his wife Tammy continue to live on the North Side and they have four adult children, three daughters-in-law, a son in law, and eight grandchildren.
